Special exhibit depicting War of 1812 comes to Batavia

BATAVIA ā€” A special exhibit will open in Batavia Sunday that conveys naval operations during the War of 1812.

The exhibit is on loan to the International Peace Garden Foundation from the Department of the Navy and is sponsored by the Friends of the Batavia Peace Garden.

The public is invited to attend the Open House from 2 to 5 p.m Sunday.

 

Additional dates and times when the exhibit can be viewed by the public are as follows: 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 29, Oct. 31 and Nov. 3.

 

Location is on the ground floor of the former History Department in the Genesee County Buildings and Ground building, located at 3 West Main St.

 

The Batavia Peace Garden is part of the War of 1812 Bicentennial Peace Garden Trail that spans nearly 600 miles across New York state and Ontario, Canada.
