“The Spirit of Erie” premieres Tuesday night.

The 75-minute original pageant, with eight performances through Sunday at the Bayfront Convention Center, is part of the Perry 200 Commemoration’s two-year celebration of the bicentennial of the War of 1812 and Erie’s role in the 1813 Battle of Lake Erie.

“It really is a musical extravaganza production,” said Joyce Savocchio, the former Erie mayor who is general chairwoman of the Perry 200 Commemoration Commission.

Tickets for Tuesday’s gala opening are $100. General admission Wednesday through Sunday is $12, with VIP seats at $22.
