The Michigan Maritime Museum will host “The Life and Lessons of Oliver Hazard Perry”, a lecture by James Spurr, at 2 p.m. on July 29.
Spurr is active on several non-profit boards and commissions relating to Michigan maritime history, including currently serving as president of the Great Lakes Shipwreck Historical Society, vice president of the Michigan Maritime Museum and a commissioner, appointed by former Governor Jennifer Granholm, to the Commission for the Commemoration of the Bicentennial of the War of 1812.
The Michigan Maritime Museum is located at 260 Dyckman Ave., South Haven.
