Commemorative graphic panels depicting the War of 1812 are on display in the lobby of the Arundel Center.

The Anne Arundel County War of 1812 Bicentennial Commission got the exhibit “War of 1812: Forging a Nation” from the National Museum of the U.S. Navy.

The War of 1812 established many of the U.S. Navy’s traditions and gave it much of its heritage. After the war ended, Congress funded the only postwar expansion of the Navy in U.S. history.

A commemorative flag with 15 stars and 15 stripes will fly at the Arundel Center, the Heritage government office complex, police headquarters in Millersville and the Anne Arundel County Circuit Court.
