The Wood County Commissioners just might have set a record for brevity, but if not, they came mighty close Friday morning as they zipped through a 12-item agenda in just 10 minutes.

With Wood County Judge Bryan Jeanes absent, Pct. 3 Commissioner Roger Pace conducted the speedy meeting which went off without a smidgen of discussion.

The court approved a proclamation commemorating the War of 1812 by the Daughters of the American Revolution Chapter.

Pace read the proclamation aloud before the commissioners approved and deemed June 18 as the Commemorative Bicentennial of the War of 1812 called, “The Forgotten War,” in an effort to bring awareness to the citizens of Wood County, and that the War of 1812 may be remembered and not buried through time……….
